Megan Janett January 27, 2020 OBDF 110   Laughing Pill      When it came down to deciding which object I wanted to refine it came between a flower pot shaped as a turtle with a human skull as its shell or a pill with a laughing face coming out of it. In the end I went with the laughing pill idea. This concept came from the phrase take a chill pill. So instead of taking a pill to chill out someone may want to take a pill in order to have a good laugh. Megan Janett January 21, 2020 OBDF 110 Remix Culture Remix culture to my understanding is taking already existing material and combining or altering it to create something new. For instance taking an older song and combining it with a more modern one resulting in a new song that has bits and pieces of the previous two intertwined into it. There are various ways in which people can experience a remix; Read, Read-Write, remix and Mashup. Mashup is the example i gave previously. Megan Janett January 14, 2020 OBDF 110 Polaroid Camera   In the documentary designer Karim Rashid was talks about how our new digital cameras are still modeled in the same way as an old film camera when the film actually defined the shape of the camera. If we wanted to we could have completely redesigned the look of the entire camera. What inspired me to create a 3D model of a polaroid camera was that even though today we can print pictures from our phones there is still a high demand for polaroid photos, but in this case the overall design of these cameras have changed quite a bit even though the purpose is still the same.
